Sometimes average brushes, pads, and washes aren’t enough to take the
dry and dead skin off of your face. With rēnu Med Spa’s Dermaplaning procedure, we
can remove that top layer of skin without any downtime.
Dermaplaning is the process of using a sterile scalpel to remove the
dead skin cells and vellus hair from the top layer of your skin.
Dermaplaning is excellent for sensitive skin as it exfoliates and
leaves a flawless and smooth finish. The basic concept is the same
process you usually use to shave your face or legs, but with a much
more precise tool developed specifically for making your skin’s
surface even. It helps with the following issues:
Dull or dead skin
“Peach fuzz” hair
One of the greatest facets of Dermaplaning is that it is an
extremely low-risk procedure with the possibility of slight redness
only to be complemented by radiant glow almost immediately after
completion. As the redness subsides, you’ll see the full effects of
dermaplaning within 2 or 3 days.
After a Dermaplaning session, be sure to be careful about the sun
and any other harsh light exposure like tanning beds. As the new
layer of your skin is fresh, excessive sunlight exposure could lead
to pigment blotches and other unevenness. Until fully healed, be
sure to apply some sunscreen before heading out for the day!
